Petroleum has been around for thousands of years. In Mesopotamia it was used in construction, the Egyptians and Chinese cultures managed to find multiple uses for this versatile material, but it was not until the middle of the XVII century that it began to be commercialized. Native Americans of the Pre-Colombian period were also familiarized with and used petroleum as a waterproof material for their boats.
It is with the mass automobile market and the use of gasoline that there is an increase in the use of products derived from petroleum. It is estimated that from the time of the Mesopotamian culture to the present date, more than a billion barrels of petroleum have been consumed worldwide.
The business of chemical additives for the petroleum industry has evolved since the 1920’s, with the purpose of optimizing water gas separation associated to crude oil. The chemical additives used in petroleum chemical industry are divided into products for Well Perforation, Construction and Rehabilitation and chemical products for Petroleum Production.
In 1997 INTEQUIM C.A., signed a technical alliance agreement with PDVSA – INTEVEP in order to develop new technology for production well ….. This technology is known as MULTIGEL®. In 1998 a new vegetable oil ester technology which works bases for perforation fluids was developed. It is now known as ![]()
Perforation::
In the field of perforation, construction and well maintenance INTEQUIM C.A. offers its biodegradable base technology for the formulation of Perforation chemical mud additives.
A technological alliance was initiated between INDUSTRIAS FEMH VENEZUELA and INTEQUIM C.A., in the year 2003, as a result of this agreement many products were introduced into the market, among them are:
